啄木鳥和雨

　　寧靜的山村進入雨季。村中的老伐木工人岸克彥（役所廣司 飾）為人古板，與兒子關系緊張。他在上工途中給東京來的新人導演田邊幸一（小栗旬 飾）和副導演帶路，由此被拉入一部喪尸電影的外景拍攝。在被迫充當臨時演員后，克彥竟對電影產生了微妙的興趣，他開始不請自來的幫助攝制組與村民溝通，開展工作，甚至忽略了本職與妻子的忌日?！　⊥蝗魂J入的攝制組擾亂了山村的平靜和克彥的生活，也改變了導演幸一自身。幸一生性靦腆缺乏自信，在攝制組中毫無威信。偶然間他發(fā)現自己的喪尸劇本竟為克彥所欣賞，不禁大受鼓舞，兩人在數次的泡澡時間里進行了奇妙的溝通。在克彥的幫助下，幸一慢慢樹立了自信，電影拍攝也步入正軌。然而臨關機前的一場瓢潑大雨再次令拍攝陷入危機，克彥的缺席也令幸一惶恐無措起來……　　影片獲第24屆東京國際電影節(jié)評委會大獎。片中兩位主演役所廣司和小栗旬在現實中亦均擔任過導演。

　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
