1940年9月,德、意、日三國成立同盟。山本五十六被任命為日本聯(lián)合艦隊(duì)總司令,并不得不“違背自己的意愿”,接受命令對美、英、荷等國開戰(zhàn)。1941后12月8日零時,山本五十六親自下達(dá)了“1280”密碼命令,并親自率領(lǐng)部隊(duì)偷襲美國珍珠港,從而對美軍太平洋艦隊(duì)造成重創(chuàng),大勝而歸。隨后山本五十六建議與美國講和,但意見未被采納。在指揮中途島戰(zhàn)役時,由于戰(zhàn)略上的重大失誤,日本海軍遭受慘重?fù)p失。形勢陡然逆轉(zhuǎn),美軍攻勢如虹,日軍兵敗如山倒。瓜達(dá)康納島上有三萬多名日本陸軍,他們遭到了美軍飛機(jī)的晝夜轟炸,陷于絕境。山本五十六派出艦隊(duì)炮擊美軍基地,協(xié)助尚存的陸軍安全撤退。1943年4月18日,山本五十六為了鼓動前線部隊(duì)的士氣,乘坐一架轟炸機(jī)到前線視察。沒想到日軍的密碼被美軍竊取,美軍派出空軍機(jī)隊(duì)將山本五十六的座機(jī)擊落,一代軍人山本五十六就此碎尸于太平洋上空。
好像一切都很糟糕
Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
