該片基于Tilar J. Mazzeo所著小說《The Widow Clicquot: The Story of a Champagne Empire and the Woman Who Ruled It》，講述19世紀法國凱歌酒莊早年的堅韌發(fā)家歷程，將這個標志性橙色品牌背后的迷人年輕女子形象栩栩如生地展現(xiàn)出來。                                                                      　　凱歌香檳1772年由商人菲利普·克里科創(chuàng)立，其子弗朗索瓦·克里科與商業(yè)大亨尼古拉斯·龐薩丁的女兒芭比·妮可·龐薩丁結婚后，夫妻倆逐漸接手酒廠，一同發(fā)展香檳事業(yè)。七年后，弗朗索瓦在30歲時因傷寒突然去世，震驚的菲利普打算清算公司，27歲的芭比決定接管丈夫的生意，成為19世紀初期在男性主導的世界中經營國際企業(yè)的首批商業(yè)女性之一。在當時的法國，寡婦是唯一不需要經過丈夫或父親的同意進行工作、讀書的女性。                                                                      　　因為戰(zhàn)爭，酒業(yè)一度搖搖欲墜，公司面臨破產，芭比通過將香檳出口到俄羅斯力挽狂瀾，拿破侖戰(zhàn)爭期間，凱歌香檳在整個歐洲的皇室宮廷取得了大幅進展，將其確立為整個歐洲上流社會和貴族青睞的飲品方面發(fā)揮了重要作用。

　　城市最大的參行被盜，價值千萬的野山參瞬間下落不明。推銷員馬有才事事都晚半拍，他為籌集一筆資金，鋌而走險變成了一個空有盜竊名頭的盜竊人。主犯“獨眼”處心積慮想把同伙滅口卻不幸喪命。蕭文欲在盜竊人參計劃中獲利，卻偶遇苦尋的女友的未婚夫曹豐。案件在警官許峰的層層追查下更加撲朔迷離。人性的深情相付和鋌而走險，讓所有人的關系和命運錯綜復雜......

　　故事發(fā)生在上世紀90年代的一個美國小鎮(zhèn)上。扎克和喬西從童年時就是最好的朋友，他們每天一起騎車上下學，放學后一起玩耍，甚至喜歡上同一個女孩。然而平靜的生活在某天下午被徹底打破了。聚會因大麻而失控，朋友達里爾在教室里失血過多身亡，男孩們恐慌無措地要彼此發(fā)誓保密，扎克簡單的生活仿佛被撕開了一道巨大的口子，整日被罪惡感壓迫地喘不過氣，喬西則索性不再上學，甚至不再走出家門一步。曾經密不可分的兩個男孩在數(shù)日后便產生了不可逾越的鴻溝……

The scientist’s assistant, Simon, struggles all the while to free himself and warn Roche. A magical world of baroque submarines and sailing ships, killer octopus, undersea bicycles dazzles audiences as human actors, puppetry, animation and fanciful scenic design interact to create a cinematic experience that is unique by any standards.
