Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　故事發(fā)生在萬(wàn)圣節(jié)的當(dāng)晚，塔拉（Jenna Kanell 飾）和道恩（Catherine Corcoran 飾）醉醺醺的從一個(gè)派對(duì)中離開，走在清冷的大街上，兩人打算去一家披薩店弄點(diǎn)吃的，一個(gè)小丑打扮的男人尾隨她們也進(jìn)入了店里，雖然小丑的樣貌十分可怖，但個(gè) 性似乎還挺可愛的，除了他把店里的廁所弄的一團(tuán)糟，氣炸了店主?！　≈?，塔拉和道恩離開了店里，塔拉進(jìn)入了一間公寓上廁所，道恩在路邊等她，小丑再度出現(xiàn)在了她的身后，這一次，小丑想做的便不僅僅是逗她笑這么簡(jiǎn)單了。小丑打暈了塔拉，當(dāng)塔拉再度醒來(lái)時(shí)，映入眼簾的，是被倒掛的道恩和在一邊手持電鋸的小丑。
