　　故事背景設(shè)置在殘酷的娛樂(lè)圈內(nèi)，這個(gè)充斥著浮華、魅影、聚光燈的幕后。漸漸褪色的電影天后Shanaya求助于黑魔法來(lái)阻擾平步青云的影壇新星Sanjana，因?yàn)镾anjana已不擇手段地篡奪了她曾經(jīng)的位置。無(wú)情的Sanjana還利用她的愛(ài)人Aditya對(duì)付她，而Aditya當(dāng)初和她在一起，只不過(guò)是把她當(dāng)成一顆棋子助自己事業(yè)一臂之力。Aditya愛(ài)上了Sanjana并發(fā)誓會(huì)保護(hù)她，然而此時(shí)的Shanaya已成為一個(gè)瘋狂的魔鬼，她誓要耗盡他們所有人的生命。

　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
