　　《蜘蛛男》是“江戶川亂步作品集”第七卷。故事開頭，怪紳士稻桓租下了一間事務(wù)所，把它重新裝修成美術(shù)藝品店。第二天開業(yè)時聘用了一名十八歲的美少女，但當天晚上就奸殺了這名少女。接下來的幾天內(nèi)報紙社會版頭條陸續(xù)刊登了“碎尸案”、“美人魚案”。民間犯罪學(xué)者畔柳博士接手此案，在與藍胡子稻桓正面交鋒的過程中屢屢敗下陣來，直到環(huán)游歸來的明智加入偵破陣營……，故事從讀者預(yù)測不到的角度展開，是一部名探與殺人狂的斗智故事。

　　30年代的香港，社局動蕩，黑幫林立。香港大亨胡老頭這日找到私家偵探哎吆（林子祥 飾），要求其調(diào)查胡太太，因為他覺得胡太太這些天表現(xiàn)奇怪。哎吆調(diào)查后發(fā)現(xiàn)，原來是壞蛋神父卡邦派（麥嘉 飾）人勾搭上了胡太，意欲偷取胡老頭價值連城的股票。他們這一計劃遭哎吆撞破后，四處追殺哎吆?！　“ミ和雒H，又發(fā)現(xiàn)了胡老頭其實并非什么香港大亨，只是一名老千，他來香港的目的就是要騙卡邦等流氓的錢。胡老頭邀請哎吆入伙，一起設(shè)局騙卡邦。和好友探長羅賓（泰迪?羅賓 飾）商量后，哎吆決定來個將計就計。
